short. 'SPADES' is one of the three.
SPADES
SYNOPSIS
What
would you do if you came home early from work one day and
found someone in your bed with your spouse?
What if that someone happens to be someone you
know…someone you trust…someone you love?
What would you do?
Would you confront them on the spot?
Would you watch first or break it up right away?
Would you kill if someone violated your property?
Do you really know how far you’d go?
These
are some of the questions MARIO CHAVEZ asks himself when he
thinks he’s coming home to his fiancée, JENNIFER DIAZ, only
to find his half brother MACY BROWN, on top of
her…fornicating!
And
the Love Triangle begins…
The only thing
MARIO wants to hear from MACY “Yes I did it…and I’m
sorry”. He
gives him every opportunity to come clean…but the boldfaced
lies keep coming. And
when he doesn’t comply a classic confrontation ensues.
After
numerous attempts to get at the truth fail, MARIO decides to
take matters into his own hands.
He tries to give MACY a taste of his own medicine.
In a ploy to retrieve the his portion of the
inheritance left by their father, FRANKLIN BROWN…he sets up
MACY with the one girl that he knew wouldn’t fall for
MACY’S charm & good looks; SASHA, the long legged
“coup de grace”.
Her mission is simple:
seduce MACY…make him fall for her so that MARIO can
exact his revenge on his little brother.
This
is a shiesty tale about 2 men searching for the truth in a
duel till death where the victor and the loser are one and the
same; not unlike brothers with the same blood pumping through
their veins.
But
nothing is simple in revenge…nothing is simple in love.
You

This
script was originally designed as a vehicle for a one on one
confrontation between LAWRENCE & DENZEL as half brothers
caught up in a love triangle.
SPADES
BACK STORY
MARIO
CHAVEZ & MACY BROWN are half brothers.
Their father, FRANKLIN BROWN, is wealthy. Mario was raised by his mother, MARIA CHAVEZ, in a modest
environment; while Macy was afforded every luxury by his
father. Macy went
to private school and Mario of course went to public. Macy
became a police officer, while Mario was only able to become a
security guard. Thus
fueling the sibling rivalry that has been there since they
were boys. Nonetheless,
amidst all the fighting and the jealousy primarily caused by
their contrasting lifestyles, there was always one constant:
they loved each other.
AND
THE STORY BEGINS
Mario
comes home early from work one day and catches his fiancée,
JENNIFER DIAZ, fornicating with who else…Macy.
In a jealous fit, Mario shoots and kills Jennifer,
while only wounding Macy.
Mario manages to flee the scene and never makes eye
contact with Macy.
Once Mario is
satisfied that he has come up with an adequate alibi, he
confronts Macy, but to no avail.
Macy categorically will not answer the question of
weather or not he has committed adultery with his brother’s
fiancée until it is posed to him directly and, unfortunately,
Mario will not ask. Instead,
the mental chess game begins; which ultimately raises issues
of trust, loyalty & love between the two.
So on they go in a cycle: Mario gives Macy every
opportunity to come clean but Macy sidesteps, until one day…
Mario
overhears a conversation between Macy and his lawyer, JIM
WATERS, basically stating that Macy was the sole heir of their
deceased father’s estate when Mario knows full well that he
has a cool 200 000$ coming to him.
That was the straw that broke the camels back.
Mario
plots his revenge. He
sets up Macy with the sultry, mysterious SASHA MITCHELL.
Her mission: seduce Macy…marry him…and subsequently
take him for all he’s worth in order for Mario to regain
what was his…and the some.
It
is truly a thin line between love & hate in this twisted
tale of blood, betrayal & the big payback in…SPADES.
